With a heavy heart, AFSCME Council 66 announces the untimely passing of our union brother and AFSCME Local 815 President Dave Bosco, on January 10, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Starting out in the Village of Solvay 28 years ago in 1993 as a Motor Equipment Operator, Dave worked his way up to Journeyman and Line Leader and ultimately President of the union. He was a unionist, a family man, a loving husband, a father, and friend. As the former fireman and Fire Chief of the Solvay Fire Department, Dave’s commitment to the Solvay community and his dedication to Local 815 leaves a legacy –– a reminder that leadership is not for the weak, family is number one, and friendship lasts a lifetime. Dave loved football, his team the Cowboys, and enjoyed having friends and family over his house to watch the games. Dave Bosco was kind – a happy go lucky guy with a heart of gold. He will be forever missed. Thank you for your service, brother.
Home going service details will be announced as soon as they become available.
